Can we just start smacking the people who put this piece of horse crap in office?

This is like watching the West Wing.  A president who can’t do anything without blaming someone else and a staff of 50 year old cheerleaders who can raise a pom pom because of the rifle shoved up their asses.  Unfortunately, the first black president will go down in history as a tremendous failure on a level that W never achieved.  I can’t understand lazy people, and this president is lazy–unless a press conference is involved.  None of his words have gravitas.  None of his thoughts are anywhere close to brilliant, and he’s risking the lives of our troops unnecessarily.

Isn’t that treason?

This man deserves no respect, period.  President or not.

I know its going to happen.  Its the third guarantee after death and taxes.  The New York Times doing their damdest to rescue the broken image of the manchild President.

Those of us who know better we happy Chicago got kicked out in the first round because of the bodaciousness of the President’s arrogance in assuming he can go anywhere in the world and get what he wants.  The stupidity of our leader is the billionth example of how he is so unprepared to be President that he’s doing a much better job of destroying the office than Bill Clinton ever did.

So nothing new, really.  Just another attempts by a newspaper that has outlived its usefulness by about 100 years to try to rescue the President from his much-deserved ridicule for being so ignorant.

Conservatives celebrate, and let’s see how long it takes for this administration to blame the Bush administration for Obama’s major, complete, and total (Oprah not withstanding) failure.

This article is about research commissioned by the NFL to detect the prevalence of Alzheimer’s Disease or other mental damage as a result of having played in the NFL.

They spent money to find out if a football player at the professional level gets messed up taking one too many knocks to the head after, say, 10 years of constant abuse.

Really?

Granted, players like Brett Favre may have taken one too many hits, and that’s why he abandonned his retirement to take more hits.  Maybe Ray Lewis delivered one to many hits to not know that pulling a trigger will kill a man.  The story points out that these former player experience these problems 19 times more often than regular men ages 30 to 49.  While I could probably dispute this (for instance, MTV…or the X Games), but the point is that playing professional football is bad for your nogen.  (You know, the SI Swimsuit issue also qualifies as a mind-numbing abuse to the male brain).

So, I guess the league will now have to provide an extra amount to the retirement of players to cover the medical costs of doing exactly what the league wanted to do.  We can expect players with common sense to save their own money to cover for the long-term lack of ability to hold down a job, but its the folks who have already shown a lack of moral terpitude.  (This is where the name Michael Vick should be placed, but he paid his debt already.)

Perhaps the league will now commission a study to find out if its jocks or sweat that causes jock itch.  They may even commission a study to find out how many times a quarterback can get hit by a Ford F-150 before he things he’s playing for the other team.  The possibilities are endless (like Britany Spears making the cover of the National Enquirer, or the stories that Ted Kennedy didn’t die.  He is hanging out with John and Elvis in Nevada.  (or the BatBoy has eaten another neighbor, sheesh)

Major League Baseball could follow suit and commission a study to find out if taking steroids jacks up a pitcher’s batting average.  The National Hockey League could commission a study to find out if hockey game activities cause a lower sperm count.  The NBA could study whether or not height gives a center an advantage over shorter players.

Thank you, New York Times.  You can go back to lies and distortions now.

I wonder how many were suffered Saturday morning, other than the one I know was suffered. (no, it wasn’t mine).

The fact that we’re all old enough now to sneak away to Nashville and drink and hang out thinned the crowd at some point, but the conversations after the party were true high schoolers looking for a good time.

Classmate #1: Ok, there has to be alcohol somewhere.

Classmate #2: Nope.  This is Kentucky.  Everything closed at midnight.

Me: Last call in Nashville isn’t until 2:45am.

Classmate #1: Does someone have a house we can go to?

Classmate #3: Does your grandmother have liquor?

Classmate #1:  Yeah, she probably does.

Classmate #4:  Is Ferrell’s open?

Me: No, they closed at midnight.

(Classmate #4 disappears)

Classmate’s Wife #1:  There’s nowhere else open.

Me:  We could try Wal-Mart.

Collective groan

(Classmate #4 returns)

Classmate #4: Ferrell’s closes at 3am.

Me:  Cool, they extended their closing time.

Classmate #2: Let’s hit Ferrell’s, and then figure out what to do next.

Classmate #1: Let’s go.

Classmate’s Wife #1: Let’s go.

Classmate #4: Let’s go.

Me:  See you guys later.

And so, the evening ended.  Classmates sprawled out all over town, though they probably all wound up at Ferrell’s.

It was a good time.  We were all dressed up tonight.  The women were still hot.  There wasn’t an ugly person among us tonight.  Everyone was happy, having a good time, planning their return trips, and a few of us even got up and danced—causing the DJ to earn his pay.  First time I’ve ever witnessed the Electric Slide being played three times—and I used to be a DJ.

Some of us were picked up by our parents.  Some of us had our own vehicles and attempted to drive under the influence of a good time.  All of us, I do believe, had a good time.  We agreed to a 25 year reunion in combination with Christian County High School’s Class of 1989.  That should be a hoot.  I know people from that year, so if they show up it will be a good reunion.

And, for the record, I had a blast!

People I could look dead in the eye, and even look over, have overgrown me.  The tall guys from high school are still tall.  There was only one tall girl in our class and she is still tall, but others have become tall.  Many people got taller and wider in the past two decades.  I felt like a midget movie extra.

It was good to see these folks for the first night of our two day reunion.  This is the first time I’ve seen them drunk.  That was kinda like being chauffer at a dance at the mental hospital.  One of our classmates was escorted to jail for being intoxicated.  We hid a couple of others so they wouldn’t be.  Which was good, because they had someone else to drive them.

But all of them this year looked much better than they did 10 years ago.  Many of the women were just plain hot, which was a big change from 10 years ago.  Many of the men were, and here is where we slipped into the Twilight Zone, taller and wider than when we were all in school.  There were about 10 of us who were the same relative size, but most of these guys got larger.  Odd.  Weird.

What are they feeding these guys?

Anyway, quite interesting to see who we could pick out right away and who had to be re-introduced.  Only a couple of the guys had to be re-introduced.  Many of the women had to be re-introduced.  They all looked so much more attractive than the last reunion.  I don’t mean that as a slam or anything.  They just looked good.

Most of our classmates live out of state and out of town.  There are only a few of us still in Hopkinsville.  I suppose this is true for most graduating classes.  If they didn’t come from family money, they left as quickly as possible.  To know your hometown can’t provide you with a well-paying job in a current field is sad, but it is one of the ugly truths of Hopkinsville.  Too much old blood at City Hall.  No one is looking to the future any more than they are taking care of the present.  I had been gone from Hopkinsville for 5 years, and when I got back it was dead.  Nothing had grown in this town.

Be that as it may, part one of the reunion has been fantastic.  Nearly all of us had a good time last night, or, to quote a useless reporter, “A good time was had by all.”  Drinks and stories abounded last night and the sense was of good cheer.  We broke up into cliques similar to those we had in high school.  Those of us who were the floaters—the ones who could fit in with any clique—did so.  The restaurant that hosted our first get-together made good money on all of the adult beverages consumed.

Part 2 should be absolutely fascinating.  Go, Tigers! Go!

So why is he being castigated by the media?

THAT is a question for which I have the answer:  It takes the emphasis away from the health insurance reform legislation.  Whine about Rep Wilson and they don’t have to say anything about the legislation in the house.  Some scapegoat threw one out at the Senate today and was firmly reprimanded by Republicans for overstepping his bounds.

Meanwhile, Glenn Beck is showing the veracity of the Community Organizer Organization that cleans Obama’s underwear with their bare hands while he looks the other way and never, ever, asks what they are doing.  Glenn has recently shown that ACORN will help a person in any illegal enterprise they desire, but only if there’s a hidden camera or microphone placed somewhere on you or your partner.  It is good to see actual investigative journalism taking place, even though it has no relation to the current problem testing our society:  Health Insurance and the lying liars who spread it.

And so, here we are.  The House of Representatives are doing everything they can to remove attention from their health insurance reform legislation and the President continues to be shown to be associated with mere minions who are drunk with power, and nasal spray, making up the laws as they go along.
